What’s the rush, if we are building for eternity.

老俞在TOEFL的词汇串讲中引用了上面的一句话（已经不是原话，老俞的还有Something），可是我Google始终无法找到出处，但分开来找的话却很容易的发现了部分来源。”What’s the rush”就是何必匆忙或是不用匆忙的意思，而”Building for eternity”便是形容建造金字塔等伟大工程(Link，最初的来源不好找，但是意思没有弄错就好了)。

这的确是一句鼓励人的话，但背后的还隐藏着你需要坚持的道理，既是永恒的工程，自然要用永恒的热情和兴趣去建设它。人生有很多阶段，犹如一趟马拉松，这一圈落后了，你在下一圈赶上；这个世纪被埋没了，你还可以在下个世纪出现在人们的眼中。Anyway，不说大话空话了，照着做才是好的。

附：后来发现”Building for eternity”还有另一种解释，被披上了宗教的色彩：

……This verse teaches us that the only men and women our Lord will use in His building enterprises are those who love Him personally, passionately, and with great devotion— those who have a love for Him that goes far beyond any of the closest relationships on earth. The conditions are strict, but they are glorious…………and no one has any right to demand where he will be put to work.

这段更表露着一种宿命感的情绪在里面。
